Absolute luminance

Give your measurements a new perspective.

Import a ColourSpace profile to start, or explore a demo.

Absolute PQ is independent of the display’s peak. Above the selected peak, errors are excluded from summary scores.

COMPARE THE DETAILS

Profile scorecard

Scores use grayscale patches in the selected range. Comparisons are ranked only on a shared stimulus set. No interpolation.

A NOTE ON THE NUMBERS

Your measurement workbench.

Import one or several ColourSpace .bcs XML profiles. Files are read locally and never sent to a server. Demo profiles are synthetic and labelled.

Set the reference first

Targets stored in .bcs files are names, not complete gamut definitions. Confirm primaries, EOTF and white point. The initial preset is BT.2020 / PQ at x 0.3100, y 0.3220 for Umer’s AWP. D65 is x 0.3127, y 0.3290. The target RGB matrix uses the selected white directly, without an additional chromatic adaptation.

Read the graphs

PQ is absolute: 100% stimulus represents 10,000 nits. Peak sets the summary cutoff, not the PQ scale. Gamma and BT.1886 use the selected peak and black level. % errors exclude a zero target. Stops are unavailable at zero measured luminance. RGB balance is linear target RGB divided by measured Y; it isolates chromaticity from brightness.

Compare like for like

A/B pairs normalized RGB stimuli to nine decimal places. Repeated baseline measurements are averaged. Profile rankings use only shared grayscale stimuli in the selected range. Different probe, patch or range settings are flagged. TV controls inferred from filenames are editable and are not verified measurements.

Colour & diagnostics

ΔEITP includes both luminance and chromaticity error, calculated in absolute XYZ using ITU-R BT.2124. Scores above the chosen peak are excluded, but remain visible in patch data. Primary outlines are reference triangles, not measured gamut coverage. 3D cloud is a rotatable measurement scatter, not a gamut-volume estimate. Repeated-stimulus diagnostics show repeatability over acquisition order; they do not assume points are ColourSpace’s dedicated drift references. Sparse ramps cannot establish precise clipping onset or visual black-crush thresholds.

Sessions & privacy

Save/open JSON sessions for a portable workspace. “Remember on this device” opts in to IndexedDB storage, which you can clear at any time. Graph, CSV and HTML report downloads are local. Offline support becomes available after the first successful visit on HTTPS. No external fonts, analytics, CDN scripts or backend are used.
